Peter's designs and finishes have been influenced by the different experiences and places lived in around the world. London provided a solid foundation of classic English and ornate gilt framing. Living and working in rural France inspired Peter's love for all things French provincial and rustic and is where he began specialising as a restorer of antique French gilt mirrors and furniture. And finally Byron Bay Australia, has brought a fresh outlook of beachy, laid back style and design ideas. 

Designing and making mirrors is a labour of love as all the processes are done by hand, by Peter himself. Woodworking is all done at a timber yard and then the finishing processes are carried out at the studio/workshop at the Byron Bay Arts and Industry Estate. 

At Subtle Finish our aim is to create timeless handcrafted classic mirrors to suit modern Australian homes that may become antiques of the future.
